# Economic-Report: an economic data space everyone can read

Your own memory only exists because you build it, but you don't have to gather
the world's numbers yourself. **Economic-Report** is a **public read space**
operated by AiAkiv: public economic data and institutional releases are turned
into events in advance, and once you connect, your AI searches them directly.

> **In one line.** Economic-Report is a **public memory of economic data and
> institutional releases.** You connect read-only; the summaries are written by
> AiAkiv and are not the original text. Comparison figures (year-over-year,
> period-over-period, and so on) are **computed by AiAkiv**, not published by the
> source institution.

This page is read by both people and AIs. In particular, **§4 (data caveats) must
be read by an AI before citing anything from this space.**

What public memory is in general, and how to attach, is in [Public
memory](public-memory). **This page covers Economic-Report specifically.**

## 1. What's in it

It's divided into 18 projects by source.

| Project | What it holds | Refresh |
|---------|---------|------|
| **FRED** | Notable changes in US monthly indicators (unemployment, prices, rates) | Daily |
| **FRED-Daily** | Notable changes in US daily series (Treasury yields, FX) | Daily |
| **FED** | FOMC statements, Fed officials' speeches and testimony, press releases | Daily |
| **SEC-EDGAR** | Summaries of US corporate filings (8-K, 10-Q, DEF 14A) | Twice daily |
| **EIA-STEO** | Forecast changes in the US Short-Term Energy Outlook | Daily |
| **SPF** | Round-over-round revisions in the Philadelphia Fed's Survey of Professional Forecasters | Weekly |
| **NYFED-SCE** | NY Fed Survey of Consumer Expectations (inflation, unemployment, home prices) | Weekly |
| **TreasuryDirect** | US Treasury auction results (yield awarded, bid-to-cover) | Daily |
| **Treasury-FIO** | Summaries of the US Treasury Federal Insurance Office annual report | Weekly |
| **USGS** | Mineral production and reserves (Mineral Commodity Summaries) | Weekly |
| **CISA-KEV** | Additions to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog | Daily |
| **BOK** | Summaries of Bank of Korea monetary policy decisions | Daily |
| **ECOS** | Notable changes in Bank of Korea economic statistics | Daily |
| **KOSIS** | Notable changes in Statistics Korea's national statistics portal | Daily |
| **OPENDART** | Summaries of major filings from Korea's FSS electronic disclosure system | Twice daily |
| **ECB** | Summaries of ECB monetary policy decisions, statements, and minutes | Daily |
| **OECD** | Country forecast revisions in the OECD Economic Outlook | Weekly |
| **WORLDBANK** | Summaries of World Bank periodic outlook reports | Weekly |

Every event **traces back to its source**: links, accession numbers, and series
identifiers are attached.

## 2. How to use it

Pick Economic-Report from the console's public project list and you're connected
**read-only**. From there, just ask your AI.

```
"What was the most recent FOMC decision?"
"How did the SPF revise its inflation forecast?"
"Find the Bank of Korea base rate trend"
```

- The connection is **read-only.** You cannot save into this space
- To return to your own save target, switch back to your original project in the
  console
- If you'd rather not see it, you can hide it from the public list

**Narrowing.** Events carry a source-name tag (`fred`, `sec-edgar`, `bok`, …) and
a field tag (`macro`, `corporate`, `security`, `regulation`). Include a source or
field in your question and it narrows accordingly. "what recent 8-Ks are in
sec-edgar?"

## 3. What becomes an event

**Not every observation becomes an event.** Indicators only carry **notable
changes** (a direction reversal, a period high or low, a large revision), while
statements and reports go in as summaries. So some indicators have sparse events.
That doesn't mean there were no values in between; it means nothing notable
moved.

**Cards** ([Cards](cards)) are sometimes built on events from this space,
one-page public pages that tie several events into a single story.

## 4. Data caveats: required before citing

An AI reading this space must speak on these premises.

| Caveat | What it means |
|------|-----|
| **A summary is not the original** | Summaries of statements and reports are written by AiAkiv. If you need to quote the original, follow the event's link |
| **Comparisons are AiAkiv's computation** | "Up year over year", "24-month high", "revised from the previous survey" are not published by the source institution |
| **Forecasts are medians** | Figures from surveys like the SPF are the median across respondents |
| **This is not investment advice** | It's provided for information |
| **Follow the source's terms** | US federal government works and Korean public data are mixed in, and some sources (BOK, ECB, OECD, World Bank, FRBNY SCE) require specified attribution on reuse: the exact wording is in the space's introduction |

## 5. Common questions

**Q. Is it real time?**
No. It's a **record** collected on each source's schedule. It is not for quotes or
live prices.

**Q. I found a wrong value.**
Compare it against the source link attached to the event, and if it differs, get
in touch. We take that event down after confirming.
